Why use #7 shot or have it in a blend?

Those are impressive patterns as expected with small pellets and if the energy is sufficient to make them effective at longer ranges aka adding value over a larger pellet I'm all ears!..........hey Brad that video you posted was Todd using 7s wasn't it?

I was going to start a new thread but will just include it here how much does ftps come in to play for example hevi 13 is rated at 1090 where as the mag blend is over 1200 where as nitro ammo loads are 12-1300 is a 7 at 1250 ftps equivalent to a 6 at 1090 ect.

Well I will tell you this much that I have learned from reloading shells myself that not to get caught up in the fps game. 1200fps vs 1100fps don't mean much once the pattern gets out there at say 40yds. I read a long time ago in magazine from a guy that seem to know his stuff that the difference from a load shot at 1200fps vs say 1100fps don't mean didly by the time they hit the 40yd mark. Both are going to slow down tremendously at that distance vs what you started with at the muzzle. I would worry more about how dense my pattern was before I worried about a load that shot 100 to 150fps faster.
