sticking to it
I'm not leaving until I get a turkey. Things just were not going my way. Every bird I heard gobble was across a flooded river bottom. I think they were on the high side and sounding off like crazy. So I changed locations and set up my ground blind. I've used blinds several times for turkeys and deer, but until Tuesday, never had success in one. I went to an area I knew the birds use and set up about 9:30 AM. I had a few snacks and my e-reader and nothing but time. I would read a little and once in a while do some calling. At 3:40 I heard one gobble. At 3:45 three toms came by and that's the end of my story.
