for my 835 I use a Indian Creek choke tube, and use either Hevi-Shot 13, or Winchester HV both in 3.5", 2.25 oz., #5

Bought one last year, left the Mossburg choke on it a xx. I use the Remington Nitro Turkey number 6,3 1/2 works fine out to 40 yards, will do the job at 50 but not a lot of pellets at that range with the cheaper choke. I'm happy with it,got my best Bird at 35 yards last year, droped like a rock with a good shot.

I've got a 20" 835. I use a jelly head with 3.5" 2.25 oz #6 Hevi-13s. I screwed up judging distance on the last bird I shot. He putted and was about to get out of dodge so I nailed him at what I thought was 40 yards or so. He dropped like a sack of potatoes. I paced the yardage off back to where I was sitting and it was closer to 50 yards.

If you pair Hevi-13 6's with the right choke for your gun a 50 yard killing pattern is absolutely doable. My 835 is a 20 inch barrel too and it loves the Hevi-13 6's.

Each girl is different I had that gun number 5 was a killer in 3"!!!
Factory choke no modes
Out of the box it was a killer I should never have sold her :(

My 835 LOVES a Jellyhead with Nitro Company H517's. Turkeys hate it.

I have a 20" 835, and while it kicks like a mule, and made finding the right choke/load combo a pain (literally), it is an awesome turkey gun! What I finally decided on was the Hevi-Shot choke (seems like it is .674 or .672 constriction...can't remember) and either Hevi-Shot magnum blend, or Hevi-13 #6. Both had devastating results out to 50 yards, and good results out to 65 yards. I spent about $340 last year in chokes and ammo to find the right combination for my gun. With that said, I have some Winchester Xtended Range #6, or Remington Wingmaster HD #6 if anyone would like to buy it from me!
