Turkey gear?

Hey, guys! This is my first thread so sorry if I do anything wrong.

Anyways, I just want to tell you what I use when I hunt turkeys here in PA. I just want to know if my gear is alright. Or if I am missing anything. Here goes:

* 10 gauge 3 1/2 inch magnum Beretta double barrel
* No. 6 shot

* A cotton base layer
* Mossy Oak breakup/Realtree APG
* I hope to get ASAT camo soon
* Rocky SnakeProof 16" boots
* Hatch Specialist All-Weather gloves
* Standard camo fishing hat (AP I think)

*Montana Mr. T strutting decoy (better not use him around other hunters :wink:)
*Pretty Penny hen decoy (not the best)

* Knight and Hale Lil Liar box call
* Primos Gobbler Shaker call'
* Primos Ol' Betsy slate call
* Primos Old Crow call (gets 'em to gobble at me)

*Mossy Oak orange backpack

*Survival kit consisting of a small tarp, whistle, matches, a mirror, and four extra shells.
*Safari sling (great for quick action and defense)
*First-aid kit
*Two compasses
*LED flashlight
*Night-vision watch

Tell me what you think!

I would say you have it all covered. Just dont carry alolt of stuff if you are a run and gunner. My calls ( 5 mouth and 3 slates) 2 decoys and my shells and my camo gloves and headnet is about all I have in my vest. Plus my thermacell, they are amazing. You will use your crow call more than you expect, I rely on mine alot and they work great. Good Luck Friend

I occasionally still-hunt in deer season, but I think turkeys are way too easy to jump.

Ditch that cotton base layer. It holds moisture next to the skin and will chill you to the bone.

Find some polypropylene..it's everywhere these days. It will wick the moisure away

Sounds like your ready for action... That gun sounds a little heavy... That might be the only thing I change...

X2 Depending how close he gets you may not have a head to mount.
Other then that it looks like you have a good set up. Practice your calling, scout, and put them to roost you will have a good seeason.
