Watch some videos, read as much as you can, ask questions on forums like this, and above all, look for areas that hold decent turkey populations. Better yet, find a mentor or hire a guide to take you out a few times, this will definitely shorten the learning curve.

I read this book when I first started:

Pretty good introduction.

Like Uncle Nicky said, finding a mentor would be a great start. Are you new to hunting or just turkey hunting? Having basic hunting woodsmanship would be a plus.

Just new to turkey. Done some deer and lots of squirrel and coyote. The biggest issue around here is finding places to hunt.
