I agree,he's a hum dinger!

JW 07-12-2012 12:28 PM

Here is one to bring us back to the original post. It will be a hunt I will remember for quite some time to come. This young lady was very coachable and was the reason she shot this dandy bird. It also was a Limb Hnager!

A great Bird and great story. If I've said it once I'll say it again,I enjoy helping others get a bird just as much as getting my own. I'm happy for TG getting her first this year, just could not wish it upon a better Gal. And thanks JW for taking the time to help her get that nice Turkey. I hope to have her and her hubby here where I'm at next spring so she can bust a Indiana Gobbler.

Nice another great memory from the Turkey woods.

This was my best season to date.. I shot both my birds by the 3rd day of the season. I got a bearded hen and a nice tom.. I had put the bearded hen in an old refridgerator to keep her good. I did this because I was hoping to end my season fairly quickly. I did mess up and ruin a chance on my second day at another nice tom however. The tom was my best to date and the hen was the only bearded hen I have ever shot. I was discouraged at myself on the hen however. Here they both are together..

This big guy came across an open field for about 200 yards in full strut. I got him just as he was about to put the smack down on my jake decoy.

On the last day of the 2012 Youth Season, I took my brother-in-law out to help him bag his first turkey ever. Just three days later during the State Season Opener, I bagged my bird less than thirty minutes into the hunt. Needless to say it was a quick, but successful and fun season.

I'm gonna try to do this right.......maybe I won't mess it up.

Last day of Alabama season. One of my good buddies and myself called four toms down a powerline. He stayed back 20 yards or so and I got my bird. We swapped positions after I shot and called the remaining birds back in but they wouldn't give my buddy a good shot so he passed on 'em.

#1 Scoring tom in the 2012 Huntingnet contest. 4 beards. Taken from Wisconsin public land. First time I ever hunted there. I also took the #9 scoring bird from a different Wisconsin public land the last day of the season. Was supposed to get some gold coins for 1st place, but still awaiting delivery.

I'll be returning to try both spots in spring 2013 too!
