Can't believe this... not looking good.

I talked to the landowner of the property I hunt. He said evening before last, late afternoon, he was back at the edge of the woods relaxing at his campsite and heard a heck of a squabble. He looked into the woods and there where about a dozen turkeys heading full bore down a logging trail with a big dog right behind them. I too heard a lot of gobbling the other morning soon followed by a bunch of barking from more than one dog. I decided to check things out yesterday evening, only to hear non-stop barking coming from the neighboring woods. Looks like this season could be a bust. I have heard some birds but have not seen any. On the roost or otherwise. Really pisses me off to say the least. This is my first year for going after turkeys and as you already know it isn't exactly cheap for the first time set-up cost.... I'll keep trying, but doesn't look very promising.

Shoot the dog, if its legal. That should end the problem.

Find the land owner and see if they are his,if not call the Warden tell him what's up.If they are wild pack dogs drop them in their tracts,I would have plenty of ammo or a side arm if legal for you to do so in case they overrun you and your Shotgun ammo capcity.

Dogs pose less of a threat to birds than coyotes by their numbers.I would contact the game warden before I started shooting them and see whats what.
