It's like I don't hear them when it's cold and nasty because I don't go out when it's cold and nasty.
Cold and nasty means below freezing and windy around here.

Same here. But, when it warms back up in a few days it seems that they are ready to begin gobbling their heads off.

I find it easier to get them on a cold morning with frost on the ground. They like to come out in the openings when it is not windy and soak up the sun. It is very common here to see them strutting around and the like when conditions are like that here. I am thinking because they will group up during times like these again. Then once it warms up the get more active until it starts getting to warm again.

Last saturday the temps were in the 70's, sunny and heard two or three gobbles..On sunday it was overcast, foggy and in the lower 40's and it seemed like they wouldnt stop gobbling.

Never really payed too much attention as I go when the time allows. I did shoot one gobbling in Colorado during a snowstorm that dropped 3' of snow though.
