hevi-shot question

I'm thinking of buying a box or 2 of hevi shot and i was wondering will they pattern alright with a standard full choke?
i have a turkey choke but it says
"DO NOT fire steel or high density shot through this Under taker choke tube"
so i wont
and i don't feel like paying $15-20 for a box of hevi shot and buying a $20-$50 or more on a new choke.

so do you think it will pattern okay with a standard full choke?
or should i buy 2 boxes of different lead shot and pattern them?

Unfortunately, there's only one way to find out.

Heavy shot is designed for the regular full chokes in shotguns its the offside to buying a turkey choke and several different types on lead loads to work up a good shooting turkey slayer.

They claim on their website that hevi-shot will give superior results compared to other loads in any choke that is rated for the use of steel.

I couldn't do it! at $30 a box for 5 shells! i got 2 boxes of different loads (federal and remington duplex) for less than $30. i almost got some winchester hd shells but my gun patterns decent with lead at 30 yards (never tried 40 yet maybe tommorow)
but theres no way am i going to spend that much on 5 shotgun shells unless its a garunteed thing

I said the same thing but i bought them the other day to see what all the hype was about and they well worth it. they had to be the best performing shell i've ever bought. At 40 yards i had no problem putting 150 or more pellets in a 10" circle. Would deffiently recommend them.

Give it a try and you will be astounded by the results. I have a buddy who shoots a Browning Silver, 12 ga, with .665 Indian Creek Choke, and the 3 1/2 Hevi Shot magnum blends. He killed a turkey at 63 yards stone cold dead last weekend. Not condoning a shot at that distance, he misjudged it, but with that set up , a shot like that is possible.

I shoot a Browning Silver, 12 ga, .665 Indian Creek Choke with the 3 1/2" , 2 1/4 oz, 6 shot and i get 196 pellets in 10" circle at 40 yards, 40 in the head/neck area...

You should be able to find Hevi-13 for around $20 (Cabelas, midsouthshooterssupply, etc) for 5 shells, and they have a $5 mail in rebate.

I shoot the Hevi Shot out of my Jelly Head choke with good results. The Remington Duplex shell is good choice. I killed quite a few birds with that load using a standard full choke. Get out to the range and see what results you get. Good luck.

The HeviShot should group very well out of your turkey choke. The shells are a little more than lead, but if you can't call that Tom in close, you'll be glad you spent a few extra bucks!
