scouting help

For the past three days ive seen three to four strutters in this corn field while scouting and was wondering if i should still scout maybe looking for other birds or stay out so i dont spook them. considering that ny youth season opens on 4/21.

I would just keep checking on them every day and make sure they're there for your opener. Maybe get there early one morning and see which way they come from as well. As the season draws closer there's a good chance that they might not all be together too. Any hens in the picture yet? If not, then there will be sooner or later and where she goes so will they.

Yes there was one or two hens with them. and they have been in that area since last thursday.

If you can see them it's likely others have to.You always want to have alternatives.Keep scouting new areas!!!

I'd keep track of them, but also keep looking for other spots as you can never have too many!

I also wouldnt worry about spooking them.

Definately be looking hard for new spots! Keep Murphys law in mind! Always a factor when turkey hunting. You want to make sure you have some backup plans. Don't know if it's neccessary to check on your toms everday but if thats the spot you want to hunt on the opener make sure yer there to put em to bed the night befor the opener. If they get bumbed off that spot, that will be the time.
