Who Else Loves the Hevi13 Shells?

I am so pleased with the patterns that I am getting
with these Hevi13 shells. I like the 5s and 6s. It is
amazing the penetration you get with these at extended
ranges.

I shoot the magnum blend 5,6, and 7s, and their great loads!

zubba 03-28-2012 06:57 PM

Love the shell...don't care for the price. But I'll shoot what works.

RIStrutStopper 03-29-2012 11:57 AM

Love the 3.5" 2-3/4 oz #6's. They throw a good pattern out of my gun.

Todd1700 03-29-2012 01:23 PM

I Love either the straight 6's or 7's. Great patterns out of my 835. And deadly on gobblers.

RPD63 03-29-2012 01:49 PM

Hard to beat the Hevi Shot. I also use the Magnum blend.

SecondChance 03-29-2012 06:24 PM

Love the stuff!!! Both in 12 and 20.

swampbuster 03-29-2012 06:28 PM

Love the magnum blend

Hevi-shot, it's not just for breakfast anymore.

Those 3" Hevi-Shot Mag. Blend are some awsome shells!!! The pattern better out of 12ga 870, my sons 12ga Moss 500, and my daugthers 20ga , than any other shell I have ever shot.

I have tried the 6's and 7's I beleive and they patterned very good also but I distant 2nd to the Mag Blend out of all three of our shotguns.

Yeah the price is steap but will all the money you spend on gas, calls and other things related to turkey hunting is it really going to break the bank to shoot about a $5 shell at a turkey if that shell gives you better patterns and longer range.

It's not like you are dove hunting with them, with turkeys you are going to get one good shot and if you only get 2 tags that is a small price to pay if they work for your gun.

Exactly. If I limit out here in Alabama that's 5 shots a year and a total of 25 bucks. That's still less than what half a tank of gas for my truck costs. Why skimp on the one thing that actually does the killing?

WVDanimal 03-31-2012 04:42 AM

Only an idiot would pay $5 per shot.................. was my mentality until a buddy gave me a couple to try. I've played the pattern game extensively in the past few months and it can drive you nuts but it's fun. I have nearly 2 dozen different brands/load combinations and a few different chokes. None of all the loads I've shot compare to the hevi-shot, it's amazing stuff and well worth it if you're driven to get the maximum performance out of your gun. By the way, if you buy them on sale and send in the rebate it isn't that bad. Last week I ordered several boxes of hevi #6 on sale at $16.99 per box with free shipping. You get the rebate in only a couple weeks and you're sitting at $12 per box.

Of course they do... There 80% #7 shot :happy0157:

I shot my gun yesterday at 45 yards and got 11 hits in the vitals with Win HV #5's

I'll take my chance at 45 yards with lead #5's!!! Worked every time so far...

Do you mean 2 1/4 oz? I shoot the same load and havent seen them in 2 3/4 oz.

To each his own. I'll take my chances putting his head and neck in a circle with a pattern like these at 40 yards. Although you really can't call it taking much of a chance. LOL!

Mr. Longbeard 04-05-2012 04:30 AM

That primos turkey target looks pretty tore up... How far was that shot???

JW 04-05-2012 04:59 AM

I'd like to see the whole target too! Look outside those circles man, lotsa holes and you'd be eaten that most likely!

JW

Todd1700 04-05-2012 05:59 AM

Target was at 40 yards. And I could care less what's outside the circles. Keep the pattern on him and he's dead. Which is why I use a red dot sight for precise aiming. As for the turkey head target there are 32 pellets in head and neck "BONE". If you count every pellet that drew blood it's in the high 80's. He can't tote that anywhere but straight down. And that's exactly where the 3 I've killed so far this year went.

Maybe, but its non-toxic
I just picked up a box to try.

JW 04-05-2012 07:20 AM

Non toxic? I was talkin' about crunchin on a piece of shot on old fillings, such a I have! I just see the the outside ring wit h the other fliers is all. Small sized shot does that.
I am glad the author posted. He likes his Hevis and it works well for him. He has taking the time to pattern the gun and that is a musts that many make the mistake and don't do! He uses a red dot is another key function as he stated. With today's choke tubes and shot combos all we are really doing is shooting a "SLUG" of shot. Close in, and I mean less than 10 yards one could easily miss. The red dot sight or tru glo or scope will prevent that! Make note of that.

All I am saying that Hevis ain't the end all load to a cure all as there are other loads and choke tube combos that work just as well and are less expensive.
