We've used a fan on a stick for a long time now...

The sneaking up part is Way Cool!

But the shooting like that is Irresponsible and could easily make the bird suffer by crippling it with a bad shot then needing to finish it off with a second.
I am curious If a shot that close would penetrate the feathers and damage lot of meat.

Thanks for sharing

Your kidding right???

that close would blow the living hello out of a bird...

Im sure that countyfyed dude is not worried if he ruines some meat... Im sure there is plenty of turkey meat in his freezer!!!

Just posting my opinion like everybody els.

That close their is no spread, and yes think about it he could just hit a leg shooting that close and that fast. I agree I don't think hes worried about ruining meat, or wounding just having fun trying something out of the box.

I think it is dangerous and unethical, thats my opinion.

bald9eagle 03-08-2012 04:53 AM

I hate to admit it but one of my good hunting buddies did this same thing on PUBLIC LAND!!!! I asked him if he was crazy or just stupid. He snuck up on a tom in a sage grass field behind his B-Mobile. When he got in range he shot the tom with one hand while leaning out from behind the decoy.

I don't believe that I'll be trying that anytime soon.

worst hunter in the world 01-02-2013 03:04 PM

Looks like a great way to get shot.

Austinhuntman 01-02-2013 05:57 PM

Crazy people and crazy birds lol

Zim 01-02-2013 10:10 PM

Glad someone scrounged this old thread up because that was the best turkey video I've ever seen. :) I don't think I'll try it myself tho!

Topgun 3006 01-03-2013 05:22 AM

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. That bird was bent on giving him a good spurring, LOL! I would suggest that nobody try that on public land, but if you have a big tract of private property that you're sure nobody else is hunting on, that would be a cool thing to try out. He obviously blew that bird's brains out and that's what we're trying to do by calling a bird in close. Now we get an objection as to "that is too close"!

Mr. Longbeard 01-03-2013 07:09 AM

When I watched that. You know what I was thinking?

That's prob how Perdue kills there turkey's...

navymancdf 01-03-2013 08:20 AM

That is crazy. Yeah you can't do that here but even if you can I would not just incAsr a turkey went buck wild

billyvankem 01-15-2013 07:07 PM

This video is pretty awesome! I've always though about trying it, but havent yet

fzo 01-24-2013 07:24 AM

awesome video. well done

rritchey sr. 01-24-2013 09:47 AM

that is wild and i wouldn't have thought to even try that move. If you'd try that on public land that would be taking an aweful chance on getting shot. On private land that you sure wasn't being hunted by anyone else its brillant!

doetrain 01-30-2013 03:53 AM

Good thing he got first blood, those hooks in the face would be nasty. But cool vid and amazing tactic for sure.
