H&R 12 Gauge Pardner Pump & Mossberg Maverick?
Was going to pick up one of these guns for turkey season. Was wondering if any of you have any experiences with either gun.
I know they are a lower line gun, but that's what in my budget for now. Thanks. |
I hunted with one for 5 years, and it was an awsome turkey gun. Mine weighed 9 pounds and shot 3" mags and would thump one at 50 yards easy. Had a .640 hastings in it and wow.

Both of them are solid, well made guns.Neither will win beauty contests, but will shoot with anything out there. Have one of each, along with an 835,and an 870,as well as a BPS. Don't be afraid to buy either. You won't be disappointed.

Either one will do the job.
Pick the one that "feels/fits" you better. It's your hunting skills that will make the difference !!! |

Here is the one I bought for $237 bucks. I sold it to one of my students because I got a mossberg 835 ulti-mag. The gun was a really good shooting gun. I had a .640 hastings choke in it and shoot #5's in 3" out of it. Yes H&R

From a gunsmith's perspective the Maverick has a better operating system. Also, it's parts are interchangeable with the Mossberg 500 roe the most part so if you did have a problem you wouldn't have any trouble finding spare parts.
