I have killed turkeys off the roost and have killed turkeys later on in the morning and afternoon. Like mentioned before once the hens leave the toms to nest they will be looking for other hens

I have never done very well from early morning till 8:00. I don't even bother getting up early and walking in very early. From 10 to noon has been the best and but just before dusk I have had some luck also.

A majority of the longer spurred birds I've taken or worked for others, came to the gun between 9 and noon. And quite a few between 10 and noon, with several falling later in the season. Although just like anyone else, I'd love to get them after flydown. It happens here and there. But like I always say the best time to get him is when he's alone or has hens that want to be social.

i couldnt have said it better. this is exactly how i hunt. i hunt every bird hard and aggressive. i may not call agressive to him but i am always agressive with my movements. are we related? lol

Daylight to 8 if all goes well. If not, 8-10 is my second best shot. Don't often get a chance on a bird after 10 though I have gotten a few that way. First half of the season is only open to noon.
