What time of the day do you harvest or get spring turkeys to work the best

I have killed turkeys off the roost and have killed turkeys later on in the morning and afternoon. Like mentioned before once the hens leave the toms to nest they will be looking for other hens

I have never done very well from early morning till 8:00. I don't even bother getting up early and walking in very early. From 10 to noon has been the best and but just before dusk I have had some luck also.

A majority of the longer spurred birds I've taken or worked for others, came to the gun between 9 and noon. And quite a few between 10 and noon, with several falling later in the season. Although just like anyone else, I'd love to get them after flydown. It happens here and there. But like I always say the best time to get him is when he's alone or has hens that want to be social.

I kill most of mine off the roost. But i am a very aggressive hunter. I'm either going to make it happen or its not. Sitting and waiting isn't for me. If I don't kill, then I will get aggressive after the lull period is done and the gobblers are still looking for hens. After 10 am if you can get one to gobble, good chance he is killable. I take his temp and see how he wants me to call, then I plan from there.
