What time of the day do you harvest or get spring turkeys to work the best

Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

LOL I love it! Nothing beats sitting in the dark while they're gobbling on the roost. If I could bottle that feeling and sell it, I'd be a BILLIONAIRE!!! LOL

I've killed most of my birds within an hour after flydown. I do love that 11:00 to 12:00 period though. I usually don't start my afternoon hunt until 4:00. I've killed several in the 4:00 to 6:00 range. Like many of you, I love to hear them gobble on roost early in the morning, so I would have to say my favorite time to be turkey hunting is early in the morning, lunchtime, and late afternoon. I guess that narrows it down. It all begins in less than two months.

Come on folks let's keep this poll going!!!!

I know we have more than 23 spring turkey hunters here!!!

Even if you don't have a story to tell, take the time to vote.

It would be really interesting if we had 100 or more votes on this poll what order the choices come in at.

I very rarely hunt after about 8:30am but I've been thinking a lot about hunting late into the morning this year. If you want stories, me and a buddy I grew up hunting with went to FSU together and continued hunting in college. In Florida, you can hunt till 1:00 pm. Well one morning after laying out most of the night drinking we still managed to get our butts out of bed. Nothing was gobbling that morning but we knew we were around birds. We decided to wait em out. We built a blind around an oak and took turns sleeping. At 12:45 we stood up to stretch and get ready to leave. I told my buddy that there were 15 minutes left to hunt legally so we sat back down. About 10 minutes later a big tom walked out and my buddy shot him. I guess it pays to be patient.

Default mid morning

i've killed more longbeards right around 10 am than any other time. they were all 2 year olds. Did have a chance to kill a monster 3 year old off the roost last year but got busted at about 60 yds. lessen learned, if he is coming to your slate call, put your mouth call in to get him the last 20 yds.

Springspur, you shouldn't be making rookie mistakes like that.

I've killed turkeys at all times of the day, but I seem to kill more of my birds around 10. Where I hunt if a bird gobbles after 9, hes riding home in your truck.
