Seeing Turkey

All through deer season this year I have been seeing turkey walk by me. One day I sat on the ground for an afternoon hunt for deer I had about 10 turkey walk past me ducks in a row within 15 yards. I have seen them regularly the past couple of deer seasons. My guess is they were all hens but at the time I didn't know how to identify. A couple of questions: Am I in a good area as they are traveling through as in deer corridors? Do I set up and call there? Or do I need to scout and see where they are going? I am new to the game so I am not sure where to begin. Thanks.

Now sometimes turkeys have spring feeding areas and winter feeding areas. My suggestion would be to scout once spring gets closer. I would be in the woods before sunrise and sit and listen once spring gets closer. Also look for turkey signs such as scratchings, poop, tracks etc. That will give you a good idea if the birds are still in the area. Remember the toms will be with the toms and the hens with the other hens . Once spring gets closer and breeding begins the toms will be with the hens. Hope this helps.
