The best box calls I've found are made by J.D. "Peck" Martin - AKA Martin Brother's Gobbler's Choice box calls. You can get them through Midwest Turkey Call Supply.

Here's a link if you wanna check them out:

Let me know what you think... Thanks!

Jerry Zebro from Wisconsin makes and awesome short glued box that sounds awesome. He has won many awards for his boxes and a glued box is $40. Believe me it is a steal. Also Scott Hembrook from WillowRidgeCalls makes a gibson box that can do it all. Scoot

Where I hunt, it is usually damp or raining more days than not, so ALL my calls are waterproof. I'm too rough on all my equipment, so it's a waste for me to buy a custom or handmade call.

I've had good luck with a MAD River Otter call, it's waterproof, doesn't need chalk, and works in a rainstorm. One side is raspy, the other side sounds a little deeper, like a gobbler yelp (for fall turkey). Looks like Cabelas has them on sale right now for $20.99.
