Turkeys Stop Gobbling

ok my buddie and i have been hunting turkeys every weekend sence opener in southern ontario and when we get there every morning and they will be gobbling at anything and everything, so we get excited and think ok this is the day than around 7-730 every day the just randomly stop and than nothing until the next morning my question is why? thanks

Did the wind pick up during that time of day?

I suspect that they are most likely with the hens and have gone off with them.

I'm from Southern Ont. as well and I would have to agree with Phil when he says "hens"... Theres a ton of different excuses to roll with but hens will do it every time... If you get the chance get closer early in the morning and sit still till later in the morning... they've heard you and now especially in the late season the hens will hit the nests leaving the big boys lonley... i've been fortunate enough not to have had the hens be an issue yet this year... definitely a first... stick with it man - right to the end...
