Hevi-13 #7's (graphic)
For anyone worried that Hevi-13 #7's are too small....well something like this might happen.
12ga Ithaca 37, Indian Creek choke, 3" 2oz #7's, shot at 35 yards. ![]() |
congrats !!!! I use the same ammo

I tried out the new blend load from the same company. It has 5,6,and 7 shot and from what I can see it will be a winner. I patterned at 40 yards and counted over 150 holes in a 10" diameter circle. That is way better than anything I ever got out of my Benelli in the 10 years I have owned it. I am pretty high on this load and look forward to trying it out on the birds on May 1 when it opens here. The only bad part is cost. About 5 bucks a pop...but it is a really good pop.

While that is a great picture I would believe more that the wad actually also helped in the kill!
Just too much damage. JW |

Is your choke ported. And if so wouldn't it be bad to use such a small sized shot? Im just curious and obviously ignorant on this matter?

There are no issues shooting this shot size (and even smaller ie.TSS #8 or #9's) with ported chokes, or ported barrels either. |
Splat! That was one mean head shot.

Thats amazing! I know if I werent using Nitros, id definetly be using those.

35 yards and you damn near ripped his head off... No way!!!
If you said 20 yards I might believe it... MIGHT I say you MIGHT want to learn how to judge yardage |

Most definitely impressive to say the least! Pretty hard to believe, but why get on here and lie. Right? It does look like the wad or maybe a slug from deer season.
Wow! You got him with the full brunt of that load. |
I don't doubt the damage. A lot of people are putting well over 300 pellets inside a 10 inch circle at 40 yards with H-13 number 7's and a good choke like a Indian Creek BDS, Jellyhead, Pure Gold or Rhino. At 35 yards those numbers may well jump to 375 or so. Thats a lot of bad Ju Ju if you get a pattern that dense centered on a gobblers head.

I guess it doesn't matter much if you believe it or not, the proof is in the picture, and I highly doubt my range finder is off.
Anytime you want to stop on by I could take you out to where it was shot at. Dude the internet is a great place for people to blow smoke!!! Brad Paisley has a song out all about it... You should lisen to it some time:wink: I've shot gobblers in the face at 20 yards and aint done that much damage... |
mr longbeard. i have seen the damage that is caused by the h-13 at 20 yards and it will rip their head off. i dont know how many pellets he is getting in the 10 at 40 but most get 250 + so at 35 should be 300+. have you ever hit a birds head dead center with that many pellets.
congrats on the bird buddy |
