Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Hevi-13 #7's (graphic)

For anyone worried that Hevi-13 #7's are too small....well something like this might happen.
12ga Ithaca 37, Indian Creek choke, 3" 2oz #7's, shot at 35 yards.

I tried out the new blend load from the same company. It has 5,6,and 7 shot and from what I can see it will be a winner. I patterned at 40 yards and counted over 150 holes in a 10" diameter circle. That is way better than anything I ever got out of my Benelli in the 10 years I have owned it. I am pretty high on this load and look forward to trying it out on the birds on May 1 when it opens here. The only bad part is cost. About 5 bucks a pop...but it is a really good pop.

While that is a great picture I would believe more that the wad actually also helped in the kill!

Just too much damage.

Wad was roughly 20-25 yards away from the gun. The choke stripped it just like its supposed to.

Is your choke ported. And if so wouldn't it be bad to use such a small sized shot? Im just curious and obviously ignorant on this matter?

The choke is ported, it is an Indian Creek Black Diamond Strike .660. The barrel came from Ithaca ported as well.
There are no issues shooting this shot size (and even smaller ie.TSS #8 or #9's) with ported chokes, or ported barrels either.

35 yards and you damn near ripped his head off... No way!!!

If you said 20 yards I might believe it... MIGHT

I say you MIGHT want to learn how to judge yardage
