first turkey ever today

Today I shot my first turkey ever and it was with my bow. I dont have any pictures, it was a small jake and my broadhead made a mess of him. Also in the process of expiring he lost a ton of feathers and we decided it wouldnt be a good picture. Needless to say Im hooked on turkey hunting. My first out ever we saw nothing, my second trip out I shot a tree lol ( my bottom limb slapped my knee and nose dived right into a tree.

Now to find good ways to cook it up.

Congrats on the first bird!!!... Now, as to the ways to cook the meat-- Cut the breast meat out and cut into long, thin strips, similar to chicken tenders... Soak the breast in italian dressing, if you like italian... Then, grill them... This is an awesome way to cook the breast meat and one my dad and I both use... If you don't like italian dressing, we also have experimented with a few other marinades, such as lemon pepper, and teriyaki... You could try this with about any marinade you want, really

how do you guys tell when the bird is done? My friend that took said its really easy to over cook and thats when they arnt good to eat.... He usually cuts his in chunks and double dips them in shore lunch and frys them. But im looking for other ways to do them also. I like grilling so i may try that grilling one.
