Distance

Thanks all for your advice on my last thred. Now i got another problem. Im seeing gobblers finally butthey wont come within 60 yards. Ive tried barely calling and ive tried calling alot. Ive foundthere travel rout and was wonderin if theyl keep useibg it all season if there not spooked. Also like i said ive gotem within 60 yards a few times and my gun throws a tight pattern out to 50 yards havnt tried it at 60 though but dose it have enough energy at 60 yards to do the job im useing 3in remington nitro turkey #5s. Thanks

Turkeys are generally creatures of habit so it is likely they will continue to use that same path for a while.
You have the energy at 60 yards, but it is doubtful you will have the pattern. You need to pattern to see what your max distance is.

You are showing the turkeys something they don't like or your calling isn't up to par. Try a lynch fool proof box call. Only use a moth call if you know how. Get on there travel path. About 20 yards off the path. Use a hen decoy and a goggler if you have one. Don't call very much or load. When you calll the first time, and they answer, QUIT calling and wait, could take 30 min, Alsa don't move, as they will see you before you see them. Try to find a spot that you can lay on your back with your head resting on your back pack and your gun between your legs. Only r raise your gun if they are close, and you can do it with out being seen. Let me know how you do!!
