I shoot TSS 98's which are 3" loads and get 307 in 10"@ 40 yards. This is easily a 65 yard plus combo. Before I started shooting the TSS I was shooting 3.5" Hevi-13 2.25 oz. #6. I was getting about 225 hits in a 10" @ 40. I had taken birds out to 47 yards with that combo cleanly and would highly recommend that combo. If you hand load though you cannot beat TSS!

When I had my 835 I was using the factory Mossberg turkey tube and my best patterns were from 3 1/2" Winchester Supreme #6's (the black ones, not red). I never tried aftermarket chokes or HTL shot out of that shotgun.

Here's a few I shot yesterday. The first 2 shots of the day.




I shot a 3" load of Hevi-13 3" 2oz #7's through the Pure Gold .670 and it was nowhere near what the 3.5" loads were. Now you know why I don't shoot 3" shells with the smaller payload out of my 835.



And here was the only shot I shot through this MAD Max .680 choke. This was 3.5 Hevi-13 #6 loads 2 and 1/4oz.
