a little scouting and a couple ?
 

so i have been reading on this site for a while and i decited i would try some turkey hunting.:party0005: i spend most of my time deer, elk , coyote. varmint hunting.

so i went out this weekend and did a little scouting. i did not find them where i saw them during deer season. there is still snow on the ground. so i droped down to the main dirt road that paralels a creek. i took the first turn off and went down to the creek. got out and looked around and found some tracks but no birds.

#1 the small tracks in the snow are they baby turkey tracks?

#2 the big track i was told that it is a tom, because the
middle tow is longer then the rest. Yes or No

#3 the picture with the big tracks in the snow was found
about 1/4 mile down the creek from the others. should i
just stick along the creek ?

#4 the creek is only about 100-150 yards off of the main dirt
road. many cars travel up and down this road. they are propley
use to all the traffic. do you think i could park on the road and sneek in with out spooking or alerting them. or do i need to park far away.
So give me your best shot and dont be shy. i am willing to learn

The first 2 pics you have are not turkeys. Those tracks are from a crow or a blue jay or something along those lines. The others are turkeys but unless you measured the track I can not tell you if it is a tom or a hen. If it were me I would spend several mornings before the season came in at daylight and see if there is any gobbling going on.

I agree with thunderchicken217 the first two pics are not turkeys but a smaller bird. the other pics look like hen tracks but hard to tell from the pics but they are turkey tracks. Gobbler tracks are biger, wider than hen tracks hen tracks are smaller and more narrow if that helps you.
I would use the creek as a reference point only, the turkeys where most likely there in the afternoon, they could have been a mile away from where they roost and may not be there very regular. I would get on a ridge near the creek at dark am or pm and use a locater call to locate the roost then after you locate the approximate location get in close enough to see where they go after fly down, then make a plan where to set up.
