Turkey Gun Scopes
You turkey hunters that use scoped shotguns, what shotgun scope are you using? I just purchased a used Remington 870 Magnum Express that came with a Bushnell scope and I don't think that that scope will work for me. I've got a Pentax Lightseeker SG-1 scope on my 11-87 but was looking for some more options.

When targeting a scope you want to watch what kind of Field of view you have on low power. Turkey shots are commonly 30 yards so you don't need a lot of magnification so a low power will be 2- maybe 3 and thats what I use. What you want is the field of view so if the bird runs or is moving fast you have room to keep it in it while your lining up the hairs...

SP Matte finish 11-87 3" 21 inch Cantelever barrel
Nikon Shotgun Black Matte Turkey Pro Reticle - Riflescope 1.5-4.5 x 20 - Matte
Buckcreek Monte Carlo Neoprene butt pad.

I have used a cheaper red dot scope and don't really like them. One of the turkeys i shot with it seemed to be almost covered up by the dot. Seemed kinda hard to get exact shot placement using it.
I prefer fiber optic sights when hunting turkeys.

The right dot for turkeys is a 5 MOA reticle ......
