Disappointed with my friend Jalvja
 

I met a internet friend from PA back a couple of years ago Jalvja and was invited down for a PA spring Turkey hunt. This was the first time we had met, the next morning we headed out to setup and hunt and I left my gun back at the house and took the video camera. After a slow start first thing, we got set on a couple of gobblers and a hen and worked them in our direction. As they neared Jim says you shoot, and I argue with him and say no " Go ahead" and this went back and forth untill the birds were almost in range. Finlly I said " OK" I slid the gun over and sholdered it at the same time the hen was 10 yards in front of me. The Toms followed out about 35-40 yards, I shot ! the birds scattered,I missed !, I took aim again and shot at the same bird,I missed again! , the birds hit,, but still running, I get up and run towards the bird to gain some yardage, I shoot again , and the bird flips over gets up and still runs,, I' m out of shells but I run and seem to gain ground , so I proseed untill I' m standing on his neck ! Man ,, I just don' t understand Why I did not knock this bird down in one shot let alone 3. Great first impression,, Well I got ribbed about this for 3 years,, WELL! guess what ! this past spring ,Jim decides to repattern his gun and HMMMMMMM it shoots to the left a foot at 35 yards HMMMMMMM he just don' t understand why! I just wonder if that would that have something to do with that missing problem I had a few years back???? A gun smith had to rebend his barrel this past spring to get the gun shooting right again. He didn' t even say sorry for makin fun of me and my shooting with his gun,, I' ll get him ,,I' ll make him shot my gun again ! :D...BT

Who else has missed because of a Gun Problem ??

LMAO,Hey Adrian it was shootin high and right.There is a lesson to be learned here.I' ve used this same gun for many years and it was always dead on.So for the last few years I never bothered to pattern it.I thought I knew where it was shootin.Last fall I took a bird that should of been dust but when I got to it it was still alive.That' s when I decided to repattern my gun.Sure enough it was off.I took it to the gunsmith and he told me this is not that uncommon.He bent the barrel for me and both birds I shot this Spring dropped like lead balloons. As for shootin your gun again my friend.NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate that gun:D

Darn Jalva BT kickin ya to the Curb bud. Man I can' t believe he bent your barrel and you still let him kill one of these wiley Easterns of PA. ;)

He tells me I need to get with ya for a Turk hunt. :D

missed a deer and lost 2 because ofa trashco shotgun scope going bad.....when id move the power the crosshairs moved.....ALOT! ive always been a pretty good shot...sure all good shoots miss....but man....a deer broadside at 25yrds? then 3 by the end of the season? i was ready to sell my guns and quit hunting just becuase i thought i plain out stunk and lost the touch....i knew it couldnt be me though....i decided not to quit hunting and stick with it..........that year i saved all my grass cutting money and bout a leupold....dad took the shotgun scope for a slug gun...the guy mounting it has a habit of checking the scopes out...he checked and was amazed how bad that one was.....i dont even count that year....and still claim i never missed a deer....it wasnt my fault.....still makes me sick to think about it.....i knew it wasnt me.....my dad appoligized after he found out it wasnt me...he was pretty mad and dissappointed with me that year......he appologized and admited he should known better then to think it was me....
