Check out this gobbler' s legs!!
This is another photo from that same gobbler, notice that he was already starting the molting process on his legs!! Date bird was shot was May 30th. I' ve seen this before on a past gobbler and he was molting out on his neck area. Seems that they must start molting towards the end of the month here in NY. I was wondering if anyone else seen this before?

Paul I' ve seen it quite a bit actually and I do believe your right, but I also credit alot of the feather loss due to breeding activity as well!Between defending there rights to the ladies and the breeding process itself they loose an awful lot of weight and feathers!!;)
