Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Dick Kirby passed away last night....

Don't know all the details as yet, but from what I heard so far, it was due to a wrong dose of a medicine after back surgery. That put him into a coma like state and onto life support. The family made the decison to take him off the other day.
For you who don't know who Dick Kirby was, he was the founder of Quaker Boy game calls. I have personally known the man since I was in high school. RIP Mr. Kirby you will be sadly missed.

He will be missed by the entire turkey hunting industry and family. Turkey hunting legend and pioneer does not do Mr Kirby justice in describing him. I am sorry to hear about this.

I just found out from a QB prostaffer. Sad news indeed. I hope his
son continues the legacy. Dick left some big shoes to fill.

Sad news, Paulie... Dick called in the very first calling contest I ever attended, in Portville, NY back in the mid 70s..

He was a pioneer, especially with diaphragm calls..

He'll be missed...

Very sad news... My first mouth call was a Quaker Boy - I still love it. He contributed a lot to turkey hunting and NWTF.

Paul , thanks for posting this. The Funeral was some of the best I have ever been at. I was surprised as to the attendies but have to say that my buddy Matt Morett, Mike Joyner, Mark Grecko were all there. Sad times but I thought of Dick today as fall turkey hunting here and have to say, He started me and I will always respect that from him...
