Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I got my tag.

Default I got my tag.

Iowa's fall licenses went on sale Sunday and I got 1 of the 150 fall turkey tags available in my zone. I'm pretty excited about this year. I'm pretty sure I know where a bachelor group is going to be.

I am assured 2 spring tags and 2 fall tags, In the fall however there are zones. The zone I live in only has 150 tags and I have always gotten one when I get in early on the first day they become available. They are a first comr first serve deal. There are zones with more tags than ever purchased, so I can always go there should I not get my desired tag. Worst case in the fall, I can get one of the unlimited, statewide, archery only tags... So it's not all bad. Its been 3 years since I've hunted in the fall seriously, so I'm excited for this year!! There are a ton of birds on the property I intend to focus on.

BTW, I'll sure participate in a fall contest!

Thumbs up

I enjoy reading a post where someone is truly excited about the upcoming hunt.May the birds draw near and give you a thrill on your fall hunt this year. The only negative about fall Turkey season is not seeing the birds strut nor gobble sence the mating is all over, but they still are awesome birds.

We get 2 fall tags over the counter for $15 each. I am glad Illinois doesn't have a drawing in the fall. We are allowed up to 3 tags in the Spring in Illinois.
