Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default What is a good shotgun for turkey hunting?

I'm new to the turkey hunting scene and having only upland shotguns, what is a good type of shotgun for tukeys? I know everyone will say something different, but I have no idea really. What should I look for, and what should I avoid?

My vote is for the Remington 870 Super Mag. Shoots everything from 2 3/4" to 3 1/2" so you can choose. Greatest pump shot gun ever made. Probably the most reliable and durable gun on the market too.

I use a Mossberg 500 12 gauge with an Extra Full HS Undertaker choke and it works fine.

I use a Mossberg 500 with a factory xxfull turkey choke. I wouldnt trade it for the world or buy anything different. Price is very reasonable.

Default best gun

you might want to pattern your upland guns & see how they shoot, you are already used to them, tactics camo and calling and a gun you can shoot well is about all you need, although i would go with an 870 also.

One that patterns well within the range you can bring the turkey in.

I use an Extrema 3 1/2" mag X-full choke....................dead bird !

Two of my favorites are the Winchester Super X2 and the Browning Gold.
