Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Just curious where everyone is staying during their hunting season?

My hunting location is a six hour drive or about 350 miles.

The night before opening day I'm going to stay in a cheap motel so I can get a good night's rest and have the "luxery" of a motel room to get dressed and ready for opening day.

Then, I will probably "rough it" and move to a campground.

What are you guys doing this year?

I like to stay camped in the area I am hunting, this allows me to sleep as long as poss, everything I need is close and I can see where hunters are going.

For all the places I hunt - I do motel, pop-up camper, cabin, and my trucks front seat!

And homes at times too!

I have the luxury of staying at my house. I can look out my window and see all the land I turkey hunt. I can hear the birds gobble at night from my front porch.

All the places we hunt are fairly close to our house, as in within a ten minute drive, so we keep all our stuff at home and go from there.

I go from home, most of my hunters, sleep at the motel or campground within 10 minutes of hunting spots. The motel, only one in town, is crowded on opening mornings for turkey season and deer season too, so some camp. It's all private land, so everyone knows where they'll hunt in the morning without interuption.

First Iowa hunt a cabin. Next a Kansas hunt, and on the couch at my buddies house. Then a Iowa hunt at a motel. Than Nebraska in my SUV or a motel, if there is one in the neighborhood.

JW I thought I was the only one CRAZY enough to sleep in the front seat of my truck LOL.
I am almost finished building a box on my truck to sleep in complete with heat, ventilation and storage. Tired of sleeping in the front seat or setting up a tent.
