20 gauge Mossberg Bantam youth

I' m considering purchasing a 20 ga. Mossberg Bantam for my son upon completing the hunter safety education course as a present. While I have always been pretty loyal to Remington, I like that the Mossberg' s forearm stock sits back closer to the trigger making it easier for a youngster to hold the gun without having to reach as far than the 870 youth. Have any of you purchased and shot this gun? How has it worked out for your kid? What turkey chokes work well with this gun and delivers a nice tight pattern?

An excellent choice for a youngster or a lady (my wife's gun of choice). MossbergĀ® also gives you a coupon for a 50% savings or the adult stock & forearm.

As for choke; try the HastingsĀ® Super Full Extended Turkey Choke (.570), it produces excellent results.

My soon to be 12 year old just bought himself one of these. My 13 year old has the remington express youth. Overall, i like them both, but a bit better of a deal on the Mossberg, we bougth the combo kit, ported slug barrel, vent rib barrel with 3 chokes, comes with a lock and 50% certificate to upgrade, handles 3 inch shells.

He will be using it next weekend for NH Youth turkey weekend, shooting 3 inch #6 shells, that out to 30 yards are throwing LOTS of pellets in the head and neck using the full choke.

It works great on clays which is all he has shot it at so far (except for the turkey pattern). Though the 3 inchers off the bench were a little much for him.

My 14 year old son started out with a Mossberg Bantam with a Undertaker Choke Tube using 3in # 5 Winchester Surpremes it pattern well out to 30 yards he shot 3 birds clean kills. He now uses a Mossgerg 835
