Listening tmro morning
 

Well my mom try's to get me up for school every mornen and struggles but tommrow should be easier.I am gonna get up earlier and see if I cant hear a few gobbler's tommorow morning.I just got off of youtube and was listenen to some gobble...."Makes my heart amost expload with excitement"
I am gonna take out my old hoot call anything else ya'll know that might get em fired up as far as shock gobble?Also do you think they'll gobble this early in the year?

what ever you do dont call with anything other than that hoot and only do it this once. you dont want em getting used to it before the season starts up

I don't even like to blow locators before season. If its a nice morning, they'll probbaly already be gobbling on their own. Try to play it as low key as possible. Don't get too close, wear camo, move slowly, and use your binocs as much as possible. I don't know how long till your season opens, but if it's more than a few weeks away, scouting now isn't as effective and they'll probably change movement patterns on ya 'tween now and then. Of course, nuthin wrong with gettin out and enjoying the show! If your season is just around the corner, try to identify the roost locations, flydown areas, early morning feeding/ breeding/strutting zones, and finally the late morning strut zones...It's alot of info to gather but it helps solve the riddle of where you need to be to intercept 'em. I agree with Screamin Steel, DO NOT use any of your turkey calls on them or you will just educate them. I know your season still has a few weeks before it opens but there is nothing wrong with you going out and listening. And that is all I would do. I wouldn't try to get in too close and see them because as open as the woods are right now they will see you before you see them and you don't want to bother them much and spook them out of your area before season opens.

Go out and listen and if you hear some, mentally mark the area you think they are, or if you have a gps take your reading. When you go out again, do the same thing, try to see up until season opens if they are roosting in the same general area..

As long as you refrain from calling using your turkey calls and you don't get in too close and spook them you should have them in your sights opening day.. Good Luck!!!
