Thanks Maytom! Well heres a quick rundown. Bird was harvested in Michigan in April 2001. Was hunting on a small private piece of land near Merril Michigan. Worked a bird early that morning but not knowing the lay of the land very good, i had set up with the bird on one side of a creek and myself on the other. He wanted to come in but would never commit to crossing the creek. finaly he just slipped out and headed to greener fields. Well on my way back to the truck, i was just hitting a crow call every couple hundred yards or so, and when i was within seeing distance of the truck, i hit it one last time and a bird gobbled back at probably 200 yards. I ran about 30 yards to my left and set up on the ridge looking at a bottom probably 30 yards deep. I sat down against the biggest tree i could find and called one time. The bird gobbled again, and was still probably 150 yards out. i began to put my headnet on and leaned back against the tree, put my mouth call in , set my Morgan call around my neck. and no sooner had i done that i could start to see him. Then another bird, then another, three big gobblers all strutting straight at me. I made a call with my Morgan Call and all three birds stopped and gobbled. Made every hair on the back of my neck stand up. Im sure youve had that feeling before. They continued to strut at me and hung up at about 40 yards. I knew that the they knew they should be able to see that sweet sounding hen that they were on their way to visit, so as soon as the biggest bird cleared from the others, I kee-kee'd once and as soon as that long neck of his stretched out, i took the shot. He was probably at 43- 45 yards. &quot;Rolled Him&quot; The entire hunt took about 2 minutes at the most. One of those quick but awesome hunts!
