Monster Flock!!!!

Holy cow ,just got back from hiking just south of saint louis on my farm and counted over 200 birds in a flock(216 to be exact)
It was unreal! I knew that turkeys bunched up but i have never seen so many all together. I am going back in a couple of days and am bringing my camera with me this time. Hopfully i have some pics to post on here soon. On the down side they are eating about 400lbs of corn in a matter of a couple days, starting to get expensive. There was probly one tom/jake for every three hens. OMG cant wait for spring bow/shotgun season

A few birds is nice but a large flock can really be a mess in your yard . We dont feed, they go where we feed the cattle and eat the seeds .

We aren't allowed to hunt them over feed here in Kentucky.

It is state law in missouri also ,but its ok out of season.
I wouldnt really want to hunt them over bait. I like to feed them through the rough weather. Its seems to keep them around for when sping time comes.
Also i am going to try to get pics today

We have cattle too and the turkeys hang out all winter eating corn and grain. Once they start breeding, they spread out.

You really need to do some management. That many together will start diseases.

We havnt had any problems with sick birds. The group has just been growning every year. We harvest between 10-20 birds a year in my group. I guess thats just not enough.

we cant hunt over bait here either but we put corn out for the deer and obviously the turkeys will get into it.... no fall hunting in my county either
