I am curious as to what some poeple do the attract turkey or make the land more turkey friendly.

I planted Bio clover and they seem to like it a lot.

Second the chufa, but any grassy openings, esp if you are dealing with large blocks of unbroken timber or mountain land. They are drawn as much to the insects as anything...also their fondness for open areas where they feel secure and goblers especially prefer to strut in open areas. Also, don't overlook water holes. easy to create. Another often overlooked is a good dusting area. Hauling a load of quality sand and creating a few areas with nice soft, sand will also appeal to birds need for dusting bowls if your area lacks sandy soil naturally. If you do some timbering, make sure to leave lots of brush piles of the trimmings. Hens love to nest in dense brushpiles, and I've found them using them as sson as the following spring after we timbered in the fall. Nutritionaly, i like to scatter some Purina Flockraiser before season. It is full of necessary vitamins and nutrients that contribute to healthier hens going into laying/ nesting season, as well as the nutrients help the young poults through the incubation, hatching, and early developmental phases. Available at any Agway or farm store. If you get severe winters, any supplemental grain feeding will help get them through winter, when there is deep snow cover.
