40 pound turkey............
stayed the night at a buddys house last night. he has a large resevoir that butts up to his back yard so we decided to try a waterfowl hunt in the morning. after 4 hours of empty skies, we went back inside. his mom made a comment about not hearing any shots outside and makes me an offer. she had a turkey that she had been raising for 2 and a half years and was sick of feeding it. she wanted it gone. we went out to the chicken pen and i see the beast......... biggest bird ive ever seen!!!!!! we kicked it out of the been and it made a mad dash for about a mile. finally i caught up to it and made a clean kill with STEEL T shot out of a mod choke at 20 yards. it was a good day...

Well I beleive you as we raised over a 50 pounder that looked like a wild turkey. We where going to release as a guy turkey hunted who never shot a Tom.
We got cold feet and sold it to a guy who has another story altogether.
It dressed out at over 50 lbs.

You let a turkey go, and then chased it for about a mile and then shot it. Really? LOL.......that is the most pathetic thing I have ever heard! I have some chickens you can chase around the house but you can only use a BB gun.

If it's a hybrid, then it's legal. If it's a true wild tukey, unless you're on a liscensed game farm, once you release it all game laws apply. This also applies to birds that leave the game farm property.
