12 ga 3 inch.....no particular reason why. I was lucky enough to have the first box of shells I purchased pattern decent so I've stuck with them.

I was with at a NWTF meeting a few years ago when the debate over 12 gauge 3 inch vs 3 1/2 inch came up. Everyone was chiming in with their two cents worth until one well-respected guy on the committee said. "I use a 3 1/2 inch gun and I'll tell you why - because they don't make 4 incher yet!" Everyone cracked up and the debate was over.

winchester double x #5s out of my winchester 1300 12 gauge

I got some Rem. Wingmaster HD to try out this season, but I love that Hevi-shot #4.

I use a 10 gauge Remington SP-10 Magnum with Remington 3 1/2 inch magnums loaded with 2 1/4 oz. of #4 lead shot. I use HD shot for waterfowl hunting but it is hard to justify the expense of HD shot for turkey hunting while it is still legal to use lead shot in most locations. In my case I hunt in Northern California where lead shot is permitted but if I were to hunt in California Condor range in the mid and south sections of the state I would have to use non-toxic shot for turkey or any other upland game as well as waterfowl.
