The Alarm didn' t go OFF !
This happened 2 mornings in a row. It was after 6:00 am and the sun was coming up but both days turned out to be ok.
Yesterday at 9:00am,there was hunters everywhere do to the holliday but we found a open pc of land that was not being hunted and Mrs BossTom shot her 2nd bird,19.5,8inBD,1inspurs. This morning the same thing I never left the house untill 9:30am and at 11:00am Sharp I was standing on the neck of my 2nd bird, 21lb, 9in BD,3/4spurs. The birds seem to be working well in the later part of the morning...BT |

RE: The Alarm didn' t go OFF !
BT, I kill the majority of my longbeards later in the morning than off the roost, especially on new ground or areas I haven' t scouted.Sometimes the birds will become much more active later in the morning on into the afternoon when hunting high pressure zones!Sometimes starting later is a great tactic just because of early pressure! Also them ole hens gotta start nesting or laying sometime and can leave ole longbeard all by his lonesome!;)Congrats on the birds buddy, post them when you get a chance!!:)

RE: The Alarm didn' t go OFF !
Nice going BT, and congrats to the Mrs. also! Who the heck needs an alarm clock when you can sleep in and still get ' em later in the morning?;)
|
I have noticed
that as I get older, those alarm clocks fail more often than they used to. I guess they just dont make quality alarm clocks anymore. Nice to know I didn' t buy the only lemon out there.[>:]

RE: The Alarm didn' t go OFF !
I hate the feeling of waking up knowing something isn' t right. Had it happen more than once and sure there will be more to follow...but sometimes it pays off and makes you look like an expert.
" I knew they wouldn' t get fired up until well after fly down....so I slept in" Congratulations on the bird and thanks for giving some comfort for the others that also have bum alarm clocks! I think I hear mine going off now....dam the p.m./a.m. settings! |
RE: The Alarm didn' t go OFF !

RE: The Alarm didn' t go OFF !
Congrats! The late bird gets the worm! Or was that the early bird?
|
RE: The Alarm didn' t go OFF !
Who needs an alarm clock when you' re going hunting in the morning? I can barely sleep all night, and I usually wake up at least half an hour before its time to get up, anyway. Always have, and I' m older than dirt!!!
Congrats, especially to the Mrs. [8D] The world needs more spouses that hunt turkeys with their spouses and fewer hunting for their turkey spouses. |
RE: The Alarm didn' t go OFF !
