RE: custom turkey guns
I don' t know exactly what you mean by getting a Custom turkey gun " Made" ?
Just send out your barrel and have the forcing cone lengthened and/or the barrel ported, or maybe have it back-bored. Each one of these custom features done to your barrel will help out a certain pecentage, either by reducing " felt recoil" , or improving your patterns. Forcing cones are $50.00, Barrel porting $75.00, and Backboring if I remember is almost $175.00. So as you can see, it can add up quick depending on what you want to have done. I went with having my barrel ported and the forcing cone done both by Pro-Port!! Glad I had it done.;) |

RE: custom turkey guns
With some of the patterns Maytom, myself, and others have had with Nitro ammo, I' d check some of it before I' d spend a lot of money on modifications. My 835 is backbored from the factory. I polished the barrel and that' s all I' ve done and really shot some great patterns.

RE: custom turkey guns
One thing you can do that a lot of people over look is a good trigger job. Of course it depends on what your used to and what your trigger feels like, but it can help if you have a heavy trigger pull.
Here' s a custom shotgun gunsmith that guarntees his work.... http://www.customshotguns.com/ I havn' t tried him yet but plan to as soon as funds allow it. |

RE: custom turkey guns
As far as a trigger job, I had my gunsmith check my 835 and the trigger pull was 4.25 pounds. As far as fixing a factory trigger, he said that 3.75 pound is as low as he would safely go on a pump or auto shotgun. He said that i probably couldn' t tell the differance to lower mine .5 pounds, so it is still as it was.
