Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Back from Ohio

I wish that I could tell all of you that I took two huge gobblers while I was down there, but Lady luck never shined on me!! They were henned up big time, at least the ones that we were working!! Some guys took some real dandy' s, 1 1/2" spured devils!! I took a few pic' s and will post them after I finish off the roll of film in my camera!! Now it' s back to working on bird #2 here in NY!!

P.S. I spooked two birds while there!! One bird came in on a run after giving out some calls from the road, and as I was running in to set-up on him, we almost shook hands, he busted me!!
The other time there was a strutter out in a large field, again it was off to the races, but after getting into this set of woods there was a large ravine between me and where I wanted to go, so I was sneaking around the woods edge to possibly get closer that way, got busted again!! Oh well, that' s turkey hunting!!

Here' s a group shot of the guys that were there!! This shot was taken right off the back deck of Clyde' s lodge!!

Better luck next time. I am still working on my first bird here this year. There are a lot of hens and the hatch has not been good the last two years so the gobblers we do have are pretty wise and hard to hunt. I got busted also but mine was as a result of trying to get too close to a bird I couldn' t see but like you said that is turkey hunting.

This pic was of Tim Herald' s awesome bird taken that day. The spurs that were shown in the 1st spur photo were on this bird!! That' s Clyde (owner of BeardBusters), Tim, and one of Clyde' s guides Chris!![8D]
