Late Hatch? Cam pic, 8-21-09

I can honestly say that after 30 years of turkey hunting I have never seen poults this small this late in the year.
They might be the size of a chicken by the time season gets here.
Has anyone else seen such small poults this late. The picture was taken on Friday the 21st of August 2009

Those poults are small. That looks more like end of June/ mid July right there. I honestly haven't seen nearly as many this year as I did last. We had a very wet spring here.

I just saw a flock of them and they where the size of pheasants.

I saw a small flock yesterday that were almost as big as the hen.
It sure is strange to see them this small at this time of the year.

Probably because the hen lost her eggs early and then had another hatch. Seen that happen before...

Yep, I've seen hens being bred in the middle of June before.
