Possible State record turkey in Indiana

thats an awesome bird ......and i don't want to start any arguments
but unless indiana changed it's policy......indiana doesn't keep records on turkeys. the NWTF may consider it a record for indiana though. i saw his post about this bird on another forum during season and he was trying to get indiana to recognize it as a record.

by the way....a friend of mine also got one almost as big
5 beards=42 inches
spurs 1 1/4 in each
weight was 23 or 24 lbs.

The states them selves do not keep records usually. in that you are correct but the NWTF does sort their records by state. so it should be the new record.

I was in another contest where Birdog was a contestant and the bird scored NWTF 148.00

haha, I like record keeping, but turkeys? I love turkey hunting too, but I can careless about record turkeys, spurs, beards, if I ever took a turkey with 5-20" beards, or 3" spurs I'd mount it, but could care less about registering it as a world record, haha.

Beings I'm the one that killed the new state record bird let me say Thanks to those that have came on different forums with their congratulations.The bird is being mounted by Artistic Taxidermy in Aurora Indiana and is supposed to be done around the first of the year.
Yes Indiana doesn't not keep records of turkeys ,why I have no idea?? but it was reconized by the NWTF as the new Indiana state record.

That is awesome birddog, I pass artistic taxidermy every time I go to our farm (off 262). They do some good work. Congrats on the bird, what a longbeard(s).. Gotta love Indiana :barmy:
