Don' t you just wish?

That spring turkey season would last all year, Our season will be over in a few short days and I' m already getting that feeling like a kid gets on Christmas morning after all the packages are opened, you know the one you get when you know it will be a whole year before it happens again. I know, we have the summer fishing months and squirrel hunting, even fall turkey season and deer hunting coming up later this year, but there is just one spring turkey season a year and its almost over. What do some of you all do to combat this post-turkey hunting syndome? I usually have several good memories from each spring season and think about them alot, you know , the things you done right and then the things you done wrong. I have turkey hunted for probably over 25 years and I learn a great deal every season. Outside of professional help, if you all have any remedies for this annual disease let me know, I will appreciate any and all help.

My season has been over for awhile now:(......i have already been out there shooting my bow , getting ready for archery:D i did get a chance to get the yard looking sweet again.......everything i negleted during huntin' is now gettin' taken care of....... i also took the hound out after a couple of controlled burns, just for the fun of it.....but i found myself wantin' to take the airboat out and get into the marsh to look for deer......but i' ll wait til july to get serious about scouting.......i live for turkey season.......deer is the just the beginning of turkey in a way.....

I like to look at the Midwest catalog after the season is over and order myself a few things that I need to replace or that I may have lost during season, or to maybe just order myself a new call to play with and help ease the pain!:D

Strut, I think many of us experience the post turkey season blues...especially those of us who get to eat tag soup:(. I have been turkey hunting for three years and have never harvested a turkey. It has been a tough pill to swallow watching many of my fellow NWTF chapter members fill their tags while mine remains in my wallet. I have turned that frustration into positive energy and have resolved to work even harder next year. I have committed myself to more frequently scouting during the year, combing over maps, networking with other turkey hunters, securing private property access, and scouting, scouting, and more scouting. I will be successful. Now its fishing season.

Well Strut, I kind of do like Huntnma, get the " Honey do' s" done and focus on my case Deer/Elk/ Bear. Plus do a little fishin and campin w/ the family. I' m the kind of guy who needs all four seasons, little turkey in the spring, little fishin in the summer, little Deer/ Elk in the fall then a little Steelheading in the winter. Keeps me outdoors and my mind off antcipation of any one season too much. BUt before you know it we' ll itchin to hear that Gobble ring out once again:D;)[8D]

OUR SEASON HERE IN MS. BEGAN THE THIRD WEEK IN MARCH AND ENDED MAY 1ST. MINE ENDED ON APRIL 1ST WITH MY 3RD BIRD.IT WAS A GREAT SEASON OF LOSING MORE THAN WINNING, BUT AS RANDY SAID,I WAS EDUCATED AGAIN EVEN AT 61 YEARS OLD.I LOOK FORWARD TO NEXT SEASON BECAUSE I TRULY LOVE TURKEY HUNTING MORE THAN PUTTING ANOTHER BUCK ON THE WALL OR CATCHING AN 8 LB. BASS. I WILL CONTINUE TO GET OUT AND STUDY AND PLAN FOR BOW SEASON ALSO.BUT EACH TIME I SEE A GOBBLER, I CAN' T HELP WISHING MY LIFE AWAY!

Actually I think its good to take a little break and get back to catching up on some
chores around the house and spending more time with the wife and kids. Here in Florida i hunt 7 months straight from early bow season in September throught Turkey season ending the end of April. Gotta take a break sometime.
Besides, the anticipation of the upcoming season is part of the enjoyment. At least it is for me.[:-]
Bass Pro Shops is opening a big store in Destin Fl. in July. I think I' ll seek therapy there.;)

:)We' re just finishing our 1st week of the season (and I am SOFA KING tired-I' ve been out every morning).

I was commenting to my hunting buddy just the other morning that " I hope Heaven is like this!" as we were crossing the most beautiful meadow---then I added (since we weren' t having luck--" Maybe we' re already in Hell and we don' t know it yet!" [&:]
