Back from MO.
 

Well to put it nicely I got whipped got one one bird and what a beut he is big, long beard runnin with 7-8 hens all the time. worked him and learned his pattern for three days set-up on him this morn knew I' d put him down today. watched his hareem flydown behind me a 60 yds watched him fly down in front at 50 yds when he hit the ground. every call I made he would scream I could hear him spittin and drummin walking in the leaves as he followed a draw out to the feild where his girls were, I was set-up 10 yrds out of possition and couldn' t see him as he went by try as I might couldn' t get him to top that little rise for a look. had to come home this morn or I would have got him in the morn I left his area after he walked off so as not to spook him and turn him over to a friend of mine that was staying another couple of days. There were plenty of birds around but I set my sights on him and learned from the experience while he was workin this morn was one of the biggest turkey huntin thrills I' ve ever had oh! well next yr.

Hoss, sure hope that he' s around next spring for you to fool with him again!! Those hunts with him are the best teachers!! Way to go with a great effort!!;)

most of missouri' s Gobblers were like that this year, all henned up. A wise old turkey hunter friend told me the ground wasnt warm enough for the hens to nest yet, he thought they would be like that for the rest of the turkey season. cant call em in, spot and stalk is the way to go, thats how i got both my birds.

Hoss,I' ve spent many a day chasing just one bird in particular also!The challenge of matchin wits with a lucky ole woodwise gobbler is a not only a thrill but learning experience to say the least!To finally hoist one of these type of ole boys over your shoulder is an experience I hope every turkey hunter gets to enjoy!!:DSounded like you enjoyed yourself![8D]

Thanks for the kind words I didn' t take that bird but it sure was an experience I won' t soon forget and you bet I learned a lesson or two.
