Spoking a bird
This morning this turkey was gobbling abotu 11 times a minute. He was hung so I decided to go to him. So i crawled and i got within 80 yards of him and he seen me turn. Then he went off flying. Should I go back there in the morning or wait a day? Thanks for your help.

RE: Spoking a bird
if you know where there' s another bird,I would leave this one alone for a day.
spook him again and he gets real wild real quick. thats just my 2 cents, there are 98 more.;) if you ddon' t know where theres another one,go for this one,but be real careful. |

RE: Spoking a bird
i ALSO AGREE. Earlier this season I had moved to another location at about 8:30am to try and strike a bird in a place where I had seen many tracks before the season. while walking down the logging road I bumped a gobbler standing just of the road in some small pines near a big cypress slough. I decided to come back a couple of days later and setup in the exact spot the bird was standing. I hit the owl call at daylight and he gobbled about 200 yards away from the cypress slough.
I did a fly down call and wing flap and he landed about 25 yards from me. Im pretty positive it was the same bird i had spooked a couple of days before. Anyhow, give it another try in a couple of days. |
RE: Spoking a bird
I went to the same spot this morning and he was roosted in a different spot for the third day now. He will not come to our calls. SHould i go to him? Thx

RE: Spoking a bird
you are sooooooo right about the spiritual aspect of it..well all of it, but especially that.....:D
i think that ,and the fact that i have to make up for lost years of not being in the woods and hunting is what keeps me out there....it' s a blessing, even the days without a harvest........ |
