Steelville, Mo. bound!!!
 

I am headed down to Missouri the end of this week, for a (4) day hunt. I will be hunting on private and public ground. Just was wondering how the birds are gobbling and if they are henned up or not. Will be watching the weather, to determine which day i leave. Any info would be appreciated.

Its pretty good hear, it was better earlier in the youth season which i killed a 24 lb gobbler...but i hunted today and the gobbler have been pretty henned up...they only gobbled on the roost and thats it..the weather is pretty hot, so pack it lite, but other wise its pretty good hear!...im pleased!

You are heading down in my direction. I have some property south of Steelville. The last time I was down there the birds were vocal in the morning very early and then would shutup. If you have not been down this way before plan on doing alot of walking and climbing hills. It sould be getting beter now that alot of the hens have been taken care of. Good luck.
