How many turkeys does your state allow?
Just wondering, how many turkeys does your state allow you to harvest? I live/hunt in Michigan and we are only allowed ONE. There are a ton of turkeys, yet we are still only allowed one. I wish that law would change. Turkey season is definetly my favorite season and I hate that when I get a bird, I have to wait until next season to do it again, where other states can take several birds. What do you think?

Here in Illinois our season is divided into 5 sperate seasons. You have to draw in a lottery system for the county tag that you desire with no more than 3being allowed. However, here in my home county, I've never been able to draw more than 2 tags on any given season.

Oh man. State is broken up into units. The Black Hills unityou can get two tags, each good for 1male turkey. Can buy online.
The rest of the units have three drawing periods.First draw you are allowed one license good for two turkeys either sex. Second draw you are allowed one license good for two turkeys either sex. Third draw you can get no more than 5 licenses good for two turkeys either sex. Theythen sell off licenses first come first serve until they are gone. The two unitsI hunt have 185 licenses that could still be bought each good for two turkeys. You canthen also get an archery tag. I currently have 7 licences. Can get one morefor the Black Hills and185 inthe other units if I wanted to pay forthem. |
