There is no doubt in my mind, the T/C Encore Pro Hunter with the 24" 12 gauge barrel tipped with a Indian Creek custom choke and topped with a Tru-Glo Gobble Stopper red dot. It's THE best feeling, best handling and incredible patterning turkey slayer I've ever seen.

I also don't say that half heartedly either. That above statement is based on the fact that we have owned and tested 2 Remingtons (11-87 & 870), 3 Mossbergs (9200, 835 & 500) and eventhe awesomeBenelli Super Black Eagle II.The Encore is simply awesome!

Many, many, many threads on this. Use the search button above.

This question is similar to what car do your prefer or what is your favorite diet soda? Opinions vary widely.

For me the "prefect" turkey only gun, if you want to shoot max 3.5" loads,is a Mossberg 835 with a 24" ported barrel. I own one so I wouldn't be buying another one anytime soon.

If you wish to stay with a standard 3" magnum then the choices will depend on your budget and asthetice preferences. They all work with the right choke. I prefer pump action over semi-auto for the simplicity and reliability.

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat602007-cat20805&id=0037600227857a&navCount=1& podId=0037600&parentId=cat20805&masterpath id=&navAction=push&catalogCode=XJ&rid= &parentType=index&indexId=cat601233&ha sJS=true

About 400 bucks at Cabelas. Probably a little cheaper elsewhere....

I would wait for Ithaca to come out with their new 20ga Turkeyslayer (they may call it something else when it comes out).

No matter how many times the question gets asked, ill answer every time with: Mossberg 835

Just bought it, Remington 870 express camo turkey, I put a Primos Jellyhead choke in it.
